Making a new painting is very exciting. When i see something special or beautiful I immediately take a picture, making sure I get most of the nuances and the tons of the colors right in the picture, because that will help me a lot after when I am ready to paint. I chose this composition because I find that the colors are so rich & magical and the contrast between all the purple and the pink's shades with the greens is very energetic and interesting. I also like compositions that are saturated with details and in this one there are a lot of objects and details. I like it because with my technique of painting - by layers, light , shadows and brush strokes, i get eclectic details, just by applying color instead of trying to make realistic details. I really enjoy using my techinque , i think that is, what makes my paintings full of energy , vibrant and life-full.

I decided to focus on the contrast so I prepare my table with all the colors.

I want to have many different nuances because, most of the times, i mix the colors on the canvas and not on the palette. I didn't make any sketch before and I will build my composition straight on the canvas.

First layer is the background. I used fluorescent yellow and pink because they will make all the colors that I will add on top of them more vibrant and saturated.
I added a darker red and a bit of blue where I know that darker colors are going to be. This first step is very important to get the final result that I want, and also to divide the the space on the canvas.
Then i am ready to start play with colors. I am adding in an abstract way colors and shades while building the objects. I work with light colors and dark colors simultaneously to get a kind of a "drawing".

I am changing brushe sizes and refining the shadows, building more details.

This is a good example for the progress using my technique. I get a lot of nuances, shades and lights, in a bit of an abstract way, that creates vibrant and interesting details.

This is where I am at now, a lot of work has been done! On the next blog you will see the final result.
